Slow: Can't divide attacks
Staggering: 2 or more degrees of success on a Fighting Test, you may sacrifice one degree of success to have opponent lose a greater action on his next turn.

Unwieldy: When mounted -2D penalty to use weapon.

Brigandine Armor - It has cloth lining with overlapping iron plates. It is designed to protect the upper body and is slid over a suite of chainmail. 1200ss, 8 Armor Rating, -4 Armor Penalty (-4 on Agility Tests, and Passive Agility Tests, and Combat Defense), 3 Bulk.

Background: Growing up Brandr had an abusive relationship with his father (also the father of Joonas' and Rogier's character). He was often beaten for speaking out of turn as a bastard and so his social skills are terrible. He spent a lot of time with the Maester or with his mother the Wise Woman that tended his wounds. He would retreat into books when his legs or arms were broken, or he sustained any other severe injury for upsetting his father. He learned to read from the people that took care of him. He learned to prefer the company of books to the company of people.
He was sent to the wall (for taking the blame for Alena's shadowcat killing one of father's horses). At the wall Brandr refused to say the words when the time came. He was severely mistreated, abused, and given the worst tasks to try to motivate him to say them, but he refused. The Wall would have left him leave but his father told them to hold him and break him. Lord Roderic was convinced he would say the words someday. Brandr never did. After several years Lord Roderick's eldest son had just... met his end, and he figured he could use Brandr after all. When Brandr returned home his father beat him bloody and he was in the infirmary for months. This was a punishment for refusing to say the words, and to make sure he knew who was in charge. His father told him to serve his eldest brother as a squire, and to help in any way he could.
Brandr spent a lot of time in the care of a Maester or his mother the Wise Woman to heal his many injuries growing up. He spent many of those bedridden days reading and learning. He would yearn for an escape from the violence, but it seems that fate has decided to send him back to the source of all of his suffering.
Brandr was probably ridiculed if he spoke up too often, and probably hit as well, so he doesn't speak much or well.
His anger most likely comes out in the practice yard and in combat though. I'm guessing he can be cruel as well, when his anger is unchecked. He probably sees the face of our father instead of the face of his opponent.

Background Events: Adolescent: Originally not the heir of the family, Marcus trained as a soldier with dreams of glory and conquest. Young Adult: After becoming an elite iron claw soldier, Marcus' older brother was killed. This effectively made him the heir. Adult: Since becoming the heir of the family, Marcus can now work on bringing glory and conquest to his family, and put the family name on the map.

Things I want to try to bring when role-playing Brandr:
Little self confidence. Feels less than human, not worthy of anything. Wants his father's love, craves it. Doesn't take compliments well. Doesn't state his opinion, sticks to the facts to avoid reprisal. Love/Hatred towards his father. After his anger comes out on the battlefield, a profound sadness overcomes him. Blackouts, doesn't remember his violence most of the time, especially when berserking. Loud & boisterous while fighting, quiet when not fighting. Abuses alchohol in moderation to self medicate. Feels like he deserves his abuse, Feels like he is not loved unless he is punished. Seeks approval of males and yet doesn't want to have them notice him. Greatly revears women, but holds them to a high standard. Fights as a man possessed sometimes not caring for his own self interest, lost in the zone. Very courageous when it concerns his family members. Wants freedom but is deathly afraid of it. Halting speech with odd breaks and silences, stutters when confronted. Jumps when touched, easily startled. Has a semi-constant feeling of helplessness and powerlessness.

I modified my character sheet. I forgot that I spent 10 already, so I added +1B to Will: Courage, and +1B additional bonus to Knowledge: Education. I also gave myself the Reviled Flaw because really, I think Brandr deserves it. If I were to take the Bastard Born Flaw would I get an extra Destiny Point? I think I needed to do that at character creation though.
